Photos can start the review, not finish it
Sample photos help identify process route, visible defects, material clues and missing details. They are useful for a first feasibility screen, but final pricing still needs dimensions, material and tolerance assumptions.
Measure the dimensions that change fabrication
A few marked dimensions are more useful than many unmarked photos. Overall size, thickness, hole diameter, bend height, cutout locations and hardware positions help the reviewer judge the route.
Explain why the sample matters
State whether the sample is a good reference, a rejected part, a supplier rescue issue or an old part that needs replacement. The reason changes how the quote should be reviewed.
